How to Choose the Right Prom Dress?

Prom is an exciting time for high-school students. It's a night of dressing up, dancing with friends and making memories. One of the most important parts of prom planning is deciding what to wear. For the girl, this can be very exciting.The clock's tickin', girlfriend! If you don't have a relative or family friend who can work some Cinderella magic with a needle and thread, it's time to get yourself to the mall before those fab frocks are all grabbed up by your fashionista peers.
Start your planning and your budgeting early. Hopefully will have given you at least six weeks' notice. If you wait until the very last minute, you're going to be frantic and probably end up buying something you're really not that keen on or that costs you more than you felt comfortable spending.
Consider accessories. What do you already have in the way of gloves, an evening wrap, barrettes, a headband, a purse or shoes? If you plan to use any accessories you already have, are they gold or silver or any other colors? You will more than likely want to make your dress color decision based on the accessories's color.
Stand in front of the mirror and assess your body shape. Do an honest evaluation of what body part you're most proud of and what parts you'd feel most comfortable hiding or de-emphasizing. Some girls have great shoulders and some have great hips. No matter what part you're most proud of, there's a prom dress right for your size and shape.
